“Sussurri di Mare” offers complete privacy and tranquility and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, town and sea
“Sussurri di Mare” or “Sea Whispers” is perched above the picturesque town of Moneglia, and nestled amongst woods, olives groves and fruit trees. Liguria is famous for its fruity, light olive oil and we harvest and make our own. Moneglia is a typical Ligurian fishing village that goes back to Roman times and it has been chosen as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The name comes from the Latin “monilia” – jewel, which is most likely a reference to the beauty of the landscape. There is a medieval carruggio (narrow pedestrian alley) which divides the town in half and where one finds many charming shops, cafés and restaurants.
Hosts, Alex and Patty, live on site and are available to guests 24 hours a day.
Our home is found at the end of a long driveway and offers complete privacy and tranquility, and breathtaking views over the surrounding hills, town and sea. There are terraces and a pergola overlooking the Bay of Moneglia where breakfast is served and where one can also enjoy moonlit evenings. From the doorstep are hiking trails that wind over the hills along the coast of the Ligurian Sea and connect to those of the Cinque Terre, or one can follow a narrow path through the olive groves for a short walk to Moneglia.
Sea Whispers is a bit less than a kilometer from the centre of Moneglia, the railroad station and the sea. There are several beaches in Moneglia and all have been awarded the “Bandiere Blu”, which is the highest award available. Moneglia is located between the Cinque Terre and Portofino, making it a perfect vacation spot for enjoying the best of Liguria.
